As we enter the month of June, TV France would like to remind you of three very important events – for us and for you!
- The first is the Rendez-Vous Biarritz.
As you know, we will not be able to meet in person on the Basque coast this year. But, like last year, we are doing all we can to create a digital Rendez-vous that will surprise, amaze and remind you of all the wonderful memories you have of previous years’ events. Of course, we shall miss the sea and our joyful lunches together. And of course, we won’t be able to watch the sun setting over the ocean, but our entire team is working hard on an online event that will be full of surprises and will enable you to discover the full panel of new French programs available for the next season.
So, if you have not done so already, confirm your registration HERE for the event, which will take place from September 6 to 9, in order to receive further information that will allow you to make the Rendez-Vous as effective as possible for everyone.
- The second event is the 2021 Export Prize.
As usual, this prize recognizes work in three categories (animation, drama, documentary), the winner in each being the French program that has generated the greatest number of global sales in the previous year, along with its distributor, whose know-how has created the program’s high profile. We have just unveiled the three lucky nominees in each genre. We congratulate them all. If you don’t know them yet, find out more HERE.
We are currently contacting a selection of buyers who regularly attend the Rendez-Vous to ask them to choose their favorite in each genre. We will announce the winners in September, during the Rendez-Vous, just like last year. So, a big thank you to all those who will be part of the jury for their cooperation and their speedy replies, which make the final count much easier to perform.
- Finally, as we have already communicated, at the end of June, our governing bodies will be voting on the transformation of TV France.
If the vote is favorable, the organization that you know, TV France, will change its name and take on that of our cinematic counterpart, Unifrance, with whom we will henceforth be linked for the promotion of all French audiovisual and cinematic work internationally. Rest assured, your contacts – the TV France team – will not change at all. Nor will our promotional activities. And we will continue to come meet you on our stand at various markets. We will also maintain our Screenopsis platform, run the Rendez-Vous in September, and participate in various meet-ups throughout the world.
We are convinced that this transformation, which has been in consideration and development for years, will enable us to raise our profile, increase our effectiveness, and – faced with the competition created by a globalized economy – work together, united and stronger.
We look forward to celebrating this new departure with you – probably in the fall, as soon as we can meet again. Until that pleasure can be ours once more, I wish you all a wonderful summer!
