“Let’s hope the show goes on for ingenious French comedy Call My Agent!.

Tom Ryan, The Sydney Morning Herald, 17/03/2021, www.smh.com.au

In distribution

It’s known in France as Dix pour cent (which translates as “ten per cent”, an agent’s take of a client’s salary). Across four seasons and 24 episodes, it has become a global hit, a wry, affectionate, satirically astute portrait of the workings of the fictional Paris-based Agence Samuel Kerr (ASK) – located at 149, Rue Saint-Honoré. (…) There have already been a couple of adaptations of Call My Agent! – the Québécois Les Invisibles, set in Montreal, and the Istanbul-based Turkish Menajerimi Ara (Call My Manager) – with a host of others reportedly in the works in India, China, Italy, Spain, Germany and the UK. (…) But have we seen the last of the original Call My Agent!? The final episode of season four, which features a lovely guest appearance by Jean Reno, certainly suggests so. However, according to The Guardian earlier this year, Besnehard isn’t quite ready to let go of his baby yet. “There will certainly be a film,” he’s promised. “And France Télévisions have said they are keen for some kind of fifth series. We’re thinking about it.” READ MORE…
